What is Catch Analyst?
Catch Analyst is an online mapping tool developed to enable commercial fishers to spatially and temporally display & query fine scale catch & effort data collected by those individual fishers.
Why Catch Analyst?
Many commercial fishers are capturing fine scale catch & effort data electronically. These data are captured in real time and stored in a spatial database. Catch Analyst will enable fishers to query their own data online from the spatial database.
Who can use Catch Analyst?
Catch Analyst is available for public use. The public may view the base layers and use the mapping tools available however data layers showing individual fishers catch & effort data are only accessible to the owner of that data.
Development
Catch Analyst is under constant development and is a work in progress. More reporting and query functions will be added as funds & time allow. We welcome any suggestions on ways to improve the site. We are also open to enquiries from other fisheries stakeholder groups in how they too may benefit from using the online spatial tools being developed.
Catch Analyst is developed and maintained by Simon Anderson, Bill Westphal & Jamie Popkin.
